Malaria is a leading killer of children in Africa. A child dies every 45 seconds
from Malaria. Imagine No Malaria is a Campaign to raise funds for critical
malaria-fighting
tools such as rapid diagnostic tests, anti-malaria campaigns
in schools, new research,
and infrastructure improvements.
The Strategy:
Prevent:
Distribute life-saving bed nets and teach people to use them effectively. Drain standing water where insects breed.
Treat:
Equip existing hospitals and community health workers with rapid diagnosis kits and life-saving medicines to treat malaria.
Educate:
Reach people in rural areas with information on how to protect themselves from mosquitoes.
Communicate:
Deploy radios, cell phones and citizen communicators to spread life-saving information.
