STREAMING WATERS WORK WEEK 2011

August 1st - August 5th

What is Streaming Waters Work Week?
Streaming Waters is a week where volunteers ‘stream’ throughout
the McDonough County area doing simple home repairs, household
and yard jobs that home owners cannot do because of either
finances or ability.

Why do we do this?
Maybe the best way to answer this question is to say what we
are not trying to do: We are not doing this to sign you up, or
make you join our church, or anything like that!

We are doing this because we are members of a community of
faith who sense God’s love in our lives and for our world. We see
this love most dramatically expressed in the life and way, the
teachings and deeds, the death and resurrection of Jesus. We
feel urged by his life, example, and teachings to share this love in compassionate service with others, near and far.

And so—we are trying to be faithful to that love and calling,
nothing more, and nothing less. Of course, you are always invited
to join us in worship or in fellowship. But that is not why we do it!
