World Day of Prayer
March 3
(organized by the United Methodist Women)
United Methodist Women invites Wesley's congregation and friends to join us as we celebrate the 2017 World Day of Prayer, with its theme, "Am I Being Unfair to You?", at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3 in the Atrium. This year's program is written by women of the Philipppines, with a focus on the parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16), the concepts of economic justice, and our response in light of God's generosity.
A worldwide ecumenical movement of Christian women of many traditions, World Day of Prayer was founded nearly 100 years ago. Now more than 170 countries and regions gather to observe a common day of prayer the first Friday of March. Wesley's celebration will include displays of cultural artifacts, and a Filipino dessert and coffee will be served.
