5:00 p.m. This is the first Youth Group meeting. This is for junior and senior high students. Information about this year's youth groups will be shared.  We plan to have both a Junior High Youth Group and a Senior High Youth Group.

July 11-18, 2015: Mission Trip to Denver, CO.

 May 3 Paintball (trip to Pekin)
Parents of youth attending the Youth Group Paintball in Pekin need to sign an online waiver form (it's pretty short).
(or go to http://pekinpaintballpark.com/ and click Waiver. Note the date is May 3; Groupname: "Wesley UM Church")

Click through the steps. Fill out the waiver for a minor. You sign your signature using the mouse on the screen.  Then click Finish.

 

Cost is $15 (church pays the rest). Meet at 12:50 and leave at 1:00 p.m. We'll be home about 6:30 p.m.

 

Sign up at church, or contact Marilyn with your Jimmy Johns Sandwich choice (we'll eat on the ride home).

 

You also need a permission slip and a medical form on file.

 

We are hoping some of the youth from Pekin UMC will be joining us.  The Pekin UMC Youth Group will also be going with us on the Denver Mission trip in July.

 Mar. 1  Youth Group with the Wesley Foundation.  Go to the Wesley Foundation (WIU campus) at 6 p.m.  We should be done about 7:30 p.m.
 Mar. 8  Easter Craft and Make-Your-Own Smoothies. NOTE: for the craft we need needle-nose pliers (slim-nose pliers). If you have some, please bring them.
 Mar. 15   (no youth group) Spring Break
 Mar. 22  Set Up for Rummage Sale. 4-6 p.m. We will eat at the end.
 Mar. 28, Sat.  Rummage Sale tear-down.
 Mar. 29  Winter Jam Trip to Peoria. Need a permission slip and medical form on file. Leave at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $10. Admission, transportation, JJ sandwich /chips/drink provided.

 Notes:
 Feb. 1  Super Bowl Sub Sandwich Fund-Raiser.  Come to the church kitchen to build subs at 7 a.m. (No youth group later in the day.)
 Feb. 8  Coffee Talk Night 5 p.m.
 Sat. Feb. 14  Ski Trip to SnowStar.  Cost is $35 + money (or a sack lunch) to eat for lunch.  Your $35 (and the church will pay the rest) will cover: lift ticket, ski/boots equipment, transportation, ski lesson, and supper on the way home. We'll meet at 8 a.m. (leave shortly after 8 a.m.).  We should be back home around 9 p.m. Please let Marilyn know if you want to attend, by Friday, Feb. 6, so we can register as a group.

 Jan. 18    Quad City Mallards Hockey trip - Sign up with Marilyn. Cost is $20. You need a permission slip. Meet a few minutes before 2:00 p.m. (Sun., 1/18/15). We'll leave at 2 p.m. Cost (the church will pay the extra) covers ticket, transportation, one meal on the way home.
  Jan. 25  Movie Night. 5 p.m. bring a friend.

 Fri, Dec. 19  Lock In: Check-in between 10 and 11 p.m. The Lock-In is over at 7 a.m. Saturday. Bring your permission slip and games and game controllers. We are looking for parents to help chaperon for a couple hours. Two time slots: 10 p.m.-2:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.- 7:00 a.m. Please let us know if you can help us out. (Parents need not stay the whole time slot. If you can be there for an hour or 2, it helps.)

 Nov. 9  3 p.m.-6 p.m. Leaves for Loaves and Fishes - This is to raise money for the Loaves and Fishes food pantry - Day 1. We will eat at about 5:30 at church.
 Nov. 16  Game Night - Bring your video games. Also 4-Square, Table Tennis, Pool.
 Nov. 23  Leaves for Loaves and Fishes - This is to raise money for the Loaves and Fishes food pantry - Day 2.  We will end with a Pizza Party at Aurelio's.  Time TBA.
 Nov. 30 Christmas crafts for the shut-ins.

 Notes:
Oct. 5  Christian Music Concert in LaHarpe - Jason Gray, Unspkoen, Lindsay McCaul and Carrolton.  Meet at 4:45 p.m. at church. Leave at 5:00 p.m. Cost: $10. Church will provide transportation, JJ sandich/chips, and concert ticket. Sign up (in the youth room) so we can get you a ticket and so we have your sandwich choice. You can sign up a friend.  Living Springs

  • Fall Games - 4 p.m. Sunday through noon Monday
  • Work Day - service project Monday, noon - 4 p.m.

Sign up at church (in the youth room). Each person needs a permission slip. 

 Oct. 19  Corn Maze at Horn Field Campus (985 China Road).  4 p.m. Cost is $5.  We will eat at 5 p.m. (Done at 6 p.m.)  If you need a ride or directions, call an adviser.

 Sept. 7  Make Your Own Pizza Nite - Ala the Food Network we're going in the kitchen and getting creative. We will also discuss things you would like to do this semester.
 Sept. 14  Flag Football at Veterans Park - 5 p.m.  After the games we will provide transportation back to church, where we will eat.  We will be done around 6:30 p.m.
 Sept. 21

 Movie Nite on the big screen in the Youth Room.  5-7 p.m. We will eat (as usual).  Bring a friend.

 Sept. 28  Board Game Night (5 p.m. at church) Bring games and a friend.

 Notes:
 Aug. 24 Kick-off Cookout - 5-7 p.m. at the Olsen's, 44 Indian Trail Rd. (call for directions). Bring a friend. Outdoor games. Bring a dish to share. (If it rained out, we'll have it at the church.)

 Apr. 27 Guy/Girl Events: Guys: Paintball at Pekin Paintball !! Meet to leave at 1:00 p.m. Cost is $10, plus bring money for Subway (to eat) on the way home.  Paintball games will run from about 3-5 p.m.  (The church will pay the rest and provide transportation.) Important: We need 12 or more people to get the group rate.  Sign the interest list in the Sr High Youth Room and pay your $10 by Easter, April 20.  If we do not have 12 people, we will need to cancel. (We should be back to Macomb around 7 p.m.)  Girls:  Ball Fore, miniature golf. 4:30 p.m. Bring a friend. Eat at El Rancherito after. There will be transportation from Ball Fore to El Rancherito.

 Mar. 1-2 The Lock-In is On. Check in at 11 p.m. You need a permission slip. If need be we can take the parent OK over the phone.  Bring games and controllers. Mission/Youth Sunday during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services.
 Mar. 9  no meeting - Spring Break
 Mar. 16  Pajama and Sit Com Nite. Wear pajamas (or sweats or comfortable clothes). We'll hang out, watch old-time sit coms, eat, and have root-beer floats at this throw-back Sit Com Nite. 5-7 p.m.

 Notes:
 Feb. 2  Super Bowl Subs - Fundraiser for the mission trip. Meet downstairs kitchen by 7:00 a.m. (no youth meeting in the evening)
Feb. 9   Ice Skating (yep, it's cold enough). Go to Ball Fore at 4:45 pm.  We will skate for an hour and then eat at the church at 6 p.m.  Cost is $3.  (If the weather warms up [yea right, that's not going to happen] so there's no ice we will have a Movie night at 5 pm in the youth room.)
Feb. 16-17   Ski Trip to Wisconsin.  Overnight. Tentative plans: Leave 3:30 p.m. Sun. Feb. 16.  Overnight at Portage UMC. Ski Monday.  Home 10 p.m. Monday.  Cost is $35, plus you need to bring money, or a sack lunch, for Sunday evening and Monday lunch.  You get the following: transportation, lodging, ski lift ticket, equipment rental, breakfast on Monday, supper on Monday.  Wesley Church will pay the costs above and beyond the $35.   If a family has more than one person, the cost for each subsequent person is $30.   You need to have a permission slip (and a medical form on file).  This is an overnight in a church so bring a sleeping bag.

 Jan. 5  No Youth Group - froze out - too cold!
Jan. 12  Youth group at church 5-6:30 p.m. Build Your Own Food Nite.  Build your own baked potato with toppings and build your own banana split with different toppings.  Bring a friend and your ideas for our winter and spring events.
Jan. 19  Euchre/Spoons/Card Game Night. 5-6:30 p.m. at church.
Jan. 26 Winter Jam Trip (Peoria Civic Center). This is a Christian Music Concert, featuring multiple bands, including the Newsboys and Tenth Avenue North. You need a permission slip. Cost is $5. Meet at the church at 3:15 p.m. (west parking lot). Wesley Church will provide transportation, $5 toward ticket cost (tickets are $10) and a sandwich for the trip over.
