The High School Youth Group Mission Trip will be Sunday, June 5 through Saturday June 11.  We will be going to Little Grassy. This is one of the United Methodist Church Camps (it is in southern Illinois). We went there four years ago (2012 mission trip). 

The Little Grassy camp was, at that time, in terrible disrepair.  By replacing roofs (for example) we put some of the cabins back into use. The good news was that they were needed (that summer, in 2012!) because the number of camper was up significantly. 

Ed Hoke is the new Minister of Mission Expansion at Little Grassy.  He is full of energy, he has passion, and he has vision!  He has worked very hard also, at helping the Great Rivers Annual Conference come up with a plan for the Camping ministry in general, and for the Camping Ministry at Little Grassy in particular. We will be helping Ed Hoke and the Conference work toward their long term master plan.

There will be youth and adults from 4 churches on the mission trip this summer: Macomb Wesley UMC; Savoy UMC; Pekin First UMC; Willow Hill UMC.  We look forward to making new friends.

We are also looking into the possibility of working with the pastor and folks at Jesús es el Señor UMC in Cobden, IL. This is a Hispanic congregation.

On the way home (June 11) we plan to stop at Trinity UMC in Granite City, IL (where pastor Mark Myers is on staff as the associate pastor) to have lunch and learn about their great Twigs and Figs program.  More information at http://www.twigsforkids.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/TrinityUMCGraniteCityIL/

This trip is open to youth entering 9^th grade and higher. Parents are encouraged to attend.

Registration forms will be available in the church office and on the bulletin board in the Sr. High Youth Room.

Cost: $100 per person.

Departure time: Meet at 12:30 p.m. Leave by 1:00 p.m. Sun., June 5. 

Return: We should be home about 5 pm on Sat., June 11.

An Informational Meeting was held Sunday, May 1 at 6 p.m. to discuss this year's Mission Trip.
