Some Past Activities of the Extreme Men's Ministry

  • 2019-2020 - Words and Deeds: Becoming a Man of Courageous Integrity, by Charles Causey. Led by Ron Pettigrew and Jim Olsen.
  • Guys Cooking For Guys (Men's Cookout) - fall.
  • Many of us helped at the Streaming Waters Work Week, annually.
  • Mark Hendrickson led a Men's Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.  during Summer 2014.
  • A group attended Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conference - Springfield, IL, Sat., March 22, 2014.
  • Why Men Hate Going to Church, by David Murrow. Spring 2014.

  • The Prodigal God by Tim Keller, Bible Study. Nov. 2013 through Jan. 2014.

  • Service Project Oct. 26. - successfully completed.
  • Guys Cooking for Guys Cookout for Men, August 25, 5-7 p.m., Scott Coker’s house. 16135 N 1050th Rd. Macomb (East of Macomb)
    • What: This is a fun gathering for men.  We will also look at some possibilities for forming some new men’s work/service projects and Bible studies.  At present no groups are set up.  This is a fun cookout and to see if there is interest in new men’s groups or projects.  Note: while men will be doing most of the cooking, we are making one exception so that Mark Hendrickson can bring Ericka’s awesome bean dish. Who: All men are invited.  
  • Cavetime: God’s Plan For Man’s Escape From Life’s Assaults. Bible study, late spring 2013.
  • Iron Sharpens Iron Trip.  Saturday, March 24, 2012, Springfield, IL.; 2013
  • Leaves for Loaves and Fishes - Nov. 2011, 2012, 2013.
  • Streaming Waters Work Week will by August 1-5, 2011. 
  • Breakfast with Pastor Howard White.  Saturday, July 9.  Meet at Rocky's at 8:00 a.m.
  • Iron Sharpens Iron Trip.  Saturday, March 26, 2011. 
  • FCA trip to Springfield, March 8, 2010.
  • New Bible study on Tony Dungy's book Uncommon.  Start 1/17/2010.
  • Please help update/"rehab" the Adams Street parsonage (e.g., cleaning, power washing and painting). 
  • Please plan to help with the "Streaming Waters" Work Week, July 26-August 1. More information is available in the Atrium.
  • Men's Ministry Extreme Cookout - Sunday, June 21, 6-7 p.m. at Wesley UMC (1212 West Calhoun St.). We will eat at 6 p.m. and have a chance to discuss our ministry opportunities and share ideas.
  • Adams Street Parsonage Clean-up - Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. (we should be done in less than 2 hours).
